MANILA, June 18 (PNA) — Flights across the Istanbul-Manila-Cebu or Davao route can be expected now that the Philippine Airlines (PAL) has expanded its codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines.
Under the agreement, PAL will be selling on Turkish Airlines’ thrice-weekly flights between Istanbul and Manila while Turkish Airlines will be selling on PAL’s domestic flights to Cebu and Davao.
PAL, in a statement Thursday, said that the signing of the agreement was done in Miami, Florida between PAL President and COO Jaime J. Bautista and Turkish Airlines Deputy Chairman and CEO Temel Kotil.
Both carriers are expected to expand the code-share agreement once flight entitlements between the Philippines and Turkey are increased.
Bautista, for his part, welcomed both airline companies’ latest development.
“We’re delighted to partner with one of the world’s leading carriers – Turkish Airlines,” Bautista said.
“This partnership, which provides our passengers an expanded menu of travel options, will further drive demand for tourist and business travel between the Philippines and Turkey,” he added. (PNA)
