TALISAY CITY, Cebu, June 11 (PNA) — The Talisay City Development Council (CDC) has approved some PHP2.4 billion worth of programs and projects under the 2016 Annual Investment Plan (AIP).
Talisay City Councilor Edward Alesna, budget management, ways and means committee chairman, said most of the projects included in the Local Development Investment Plan and the AIP are based on the recommendations of the barangay councils and the non-government organizations and other members of the CDC.
The PHP2.4 billion includes social sector services with PHP808.6 million, economic sector services, including infrastructure sector with PHP1.24 billion and general public administration sector with PHP408.25 million.
The social sector services include programs for education, health, comprehensive assistance to the indigents, sports, socio-culture and arts, community-based training entrepreneurship development and relocation sites, among others.
The economic sector and infrastructure services are for agricultural development, livelihood and financial assistance to local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations, people’s organizations and national government agencies.
They also include the concreting, repair and rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads, irrigation systems, tourism and investment promotion, cooperative and industrial crop, environment and natural resources and electrification.
Under the general public administration are real property tax administration, information technology and community-based monitoring and evaluation system.
Alesna said the AIP for the budget year shall be the basis in preparing the annual budget. (PNA)
