MANILA, June 10 (PNA) – Petron Corporation will expand its Malaysian refinery, but not bigger than the Limay, Bataan refinery expansion from 120,000 to 180,000 barrels per day.
”We’re expanding the Port Dickson refinery, but not as a big as the refinery in Limay, Bataan,” Petron Corp. President and chief executive Ramon Ang told reporters on Wednesday.
Port Dickson Refinery (PDR) , with a capacity of 88,000 barrels per day (bpd), was built in 1963. Located at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, about 90km from Kuala Lumpur, PDR supplies fuel to distribution terminals in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.
PDR processes gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and Low-Sulphur Waxy Residue (LSWR).
Its complex has a crude distillation unit, a naptha hydro treating unit, two semi-regeneration reformer units and a kerosene hydro treating unit.
Petron currently has 550 stations in Malaysia, with 20 more on construction. (PNA)
