DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, June 10 (PNA) – The “Parada ng Probinsya” (Provincial Float Parade), featuring the 14 municipalities and one city of Davao del Sur, will highlight this year’s 48th founding anniversary.
According to provincial tourism officer Oscar Casaysay, the celebration will start on June 23 but the highlight will be on July 1 showcasing the best floral floats as entries to the competition.
“This is a competition that will showcase the best and the beautiful diverse culture, arts and products of Davao del Sur representing the 15 municipalities/city of the province,” Casaysay said.
He said that competing floats must be accompanied with their respective contingents and each contingent is encouraged to be in costumes with handheld crops.
“They may incorporate a marching band to enliven their participation,” he added.
Casaysay said the criteria for judging include visual and aural impact, showcase quality and celebratory appeal.
The grand prize winner will get a whopping P300,000, second place with P200,000, and third place with P100,000. (PNA)
