LEGAZPI CITY, June 4 (PNA) — “I choose him not because of the survey but because he is clean,” this was the statement of Governor Joey Sarte Salceda during the turnover ceremony of 15 patrol cars to Albay at the Albay Capitol Thursday morning.
“Pinapakilala ko sa inyo ang gusto kong maging asawa sa darating na 2016 eleksyon (I’m introducing to you the man I want to marry in the 2016 presidential election),” Salceda jokingly said.
The man he was referring to, he said, is Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel Roxas II.
Salceda said he believes that Roxas will be a good leader for the country for he is clean, has the brains that the country needs and a heart that every Filipino must have.
During the ceremony, all 15 municipal mayors of Albay were present, together with their chiefs of police.
The patrol cars will not just be used to maintain peace and order in their respective municipalities but also in times of calamity, distribution of relief goods, evacuation and information dissemination.
Albay is among the provinces that is prone to typhoons and other natural calamities like volcanic eruptions and amid these, has become a model for disaster preparedness, Roxas said. (PNA)
