MANILA, May 24 (PNA) – Alsons Consolidated Resources Inc. (ACR) is open to a partnership on its 105 Megawatt (MW) San Ramon Power Inc. (SRPI) coal fired power plant, said its Chairman and President Tomas Alcantara.
”We are always open to receiving other partners,” Alcantara told reporters.
He bared Toyota Tosho, one of ACR’s long-term investors and partners, is considering to take a 25 percent stake in the project.
However, Alcantara noted ACR is open to considering a bigger share from Tosho and open to seeking other partners.
”We are open to considering Toyota or even other partners,” he added.
However, Alcantara stressed ACR will retain the majority stake with the project at 51 percent.
Tosho is the current project developer of the Zamboanga-based SRPI power plant, which Alcantara hopes will result in more partnerships.
”In SRPI, they are the project developer so there’s a change in the dimension of their involvement in the project. We hope that continues, the kind of more intimate involvement in projects,” he said.
ACR said it targets to start construction next year, while it will start the commercial operations of the power plant by 2019. It will cost about USD 292 million.
It has already received a nod from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), for its power sales agreement (PSA) with Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative Inc. (ZAMCELCO). (PNA)
