REINA MERCEDES, Isabela, May 23 (PNA) — Education Department Undersecretary Alberto Jesus Muyot on Friday appealed to school officials and other stakeholders to actively work for information drive on drug use and abuse prevention program.
Muyot, who heads the Legal and Legislative Affairs division of the Department of Education, said in his sortie here that “all efforts are being exerted to ensure the safety of our children and would like to make a special appeal for our school to work actively in the community for our drug abuse prevention program.”
The biggest threat would be drugs for students going to the Grades 11 and 12, he noted.
“It is important that we prevent our students from using drugs. We should not wait until they will be user of drugs. Instead we should prevent drug use now,” Muyot stressed.
He said that drug abuse issue remained a headache to those students within the 16-18 age range.
“As to the matter of preparing for this information drive on drug use and abuse prevention, I can say that you are ever ready,” he said. (PNA)
