MANILA, May 18 (PNA) — Assets of President Benigno Aquino III increased by about Php 1.82 million year-on-year in 2014.
A copy of the Chief Executive’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) distributed to members of the Malacanang Press Corps Monday showed that the President’s net worth as of end-2014 reached about Php 68.31 million, up from year-ago’s Php 66.49 million.
The increase was traced to the increase in his cash on hand and in banks, which totaled to Php 30.08 million from year-ago’s Php 28.78 million.
Also, the President added a residential lot in Antipolo, with current market value amounting to Php 507.39, as another asset.
To date, his real properties amount to about Php 32.67 million while personal properties amounts to Php 36.64 million.
His SALN said the President does not have any liabilities.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said the increase in the President’s assets “is attributable to the President’s salary, interest income and a 1/5 share from property inherited from the Sumulong side of his family.”
”The title of the inherited property had to be reconstituted via court proceeding, which ended in 2014. Only then could it pass to the heirs,” she said. (PNA)
