58 participants join agri-trade and tourism fair of Guimaras’ 22nd Manggahan Festival

ILOILO CITY, May 14 (PNA) –- There are a total of 58 participants showcasing their different local products in one of the major activities of the 22nd Manggahan Festival which is the ongoing Agri-Trade and Tourism Fair from May 11-22 themed, “Mag-isa, Mag-ugyon, Kauswagan Padayunon”.

The Agri-Trade and Tourism Fair aims to provide a wider opportunity for producers to promote their products and to increase their income.

This year, the participants in the fair are the ones who constructed their booths at their own expense.

This is a part of the competition which the province will provide prizes for.

According to administrative officer Josie Tanaleon, there are 58 overall participants in the Agri-Trade and Tourism Fair categorized in four sections.

In the garden section, there are 11 participants, 15 in processed foods, 15 in fresh fruits and 17 in crafts.

The fair is exclusive only to Guimarasnons.

To make the event more thrilling, 52 competitors joined the best dressed booth competition.

The three best dressed booth will receive Php10,000 for the top winner; Php7,000 to the 2nd placer; Php5,000 to the 3rd placer; and Php1,700 for the consolation prizes.

This will be announced on the highlight of 22nd Manggahan Festival on May 22.

The Manggahan Festival is a yearly celebration to promote the culture, destinations and products of Guimaras.(PNA)
