ORMOC CITY, May 13 (PNA) – Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provincial director Loreta D. Banario urges their accredited workers to avail of the free National Competency Assessment and Certification from among the 11 assessment centers in Leyte.
A PHP500 fee is usually charged for the assessment, but the 11 assessment centers mentioned will assess the skills of 1,554 workers for free.
In Ormoc City, there are three assessment centers that would assess 385 workers for free. One of these is Zenaida’s Technical Studies which will assess workers on Cookery National Certificate (NC) II, and Bread and Pastry Production NC II.
Western Leyte College specializes on Cookery NC II, Bartending NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II and Housekeeping NC II. Bridges Multi-Skills Training Center will assess workers on Bookkeeping NC II, Shielded Metal Arch Welding NC II and Gas Tungsten Arch Welding NC II.
TESDA is a government agency that formulates manpower and skills plans, sets appropriate skills standards and tests, coordinates and monitors manpower policies and programs and provides policy directions and guidelines for resource allocation in both the private and public sectors. (PNA)
