ILOILO CITY, May 11 (PNA) -– Guimaras Governor Samuel Gumarin is willing to attend a dialogue and consultation with Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Double Dragon Properties Corp. regarding the stalled construction of the Iloilo Guimaras ferry terminal project.
Reiterating that Guimaras was not consulted in the project, Gumarin said he always respects the decision of Iloilo City officials on the approval of a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Double Dragon.
The governor also appealed to reconsider and review the JVA and give the Guimaras officials more room to breathe. He admitted no legal move is forthcoming but they only wanted participation in the discussions as end user of the project.
Consultations are ongoing with the different municipalities and barangays of Guimaras regarding the P11.00 terminal fee of each passenger and the P30.00 docking fee of every pumpboat as embodied in the JVA.
In due time, Gumarin said they will come up with a decision to be submitted to the city government and the builder. (PNA)
