BALANGA CITY, Bataan, May 6 (PNA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will put up more Negosyo Centers in the province.
Nelin Cabahug, provincial director of DTI-Bataan, said the move aims to boost micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province.
She said the first Negosyo Center was established this year at the DTI Bataan office while the second one will be located inside the municipal hall of Dinalupihan town.
“Each succeeding year, starting next year, Negosyo Centers will also be established in other towns of the province,” Cabahug said.
She also said that last week, a learning session on Republic Act 10644 (Go Negosyo Act,) authored by Senator Bam Aquino, was held with DTI officials and staff along with the officials of the local government unit (LGU) of Dinalupihan.
“This new law aims to strengthen the partnerships between the LGUs, national government agencies concerned and other public and private partners towards SMEs development in the province,” Cabahug.
She said that Go Negosyo Act also aims to foster national development, promote inclusive growth, and reduce poverty by encouraging the establishment of MSMEs that facilitate local job creation, production and trade in the country.
Among its salient features, she said, include promotion of job generation and inclusive growth through the development of MSMEs in the country through the establishment of “Negosyo Centers” in all provinces, cities and municipalities .
“Thus, promoting ease of doing business and facilitate access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction,” she said.
She said that other priorities under the program include the technology transfer, production and management training, marketing assistance of MSMEs and the establishment of a Philippine Business Registry Databank under the DTI which will serve as a database of all business enterprises in the country.
