US-based enterprise security opens in PHL

Posted on April 27, 2015

By Kris M. Crismundo

MANILA, April 27 (PNA) — United States-based enterprise security firm, Palo Alto Networks, opens in the Philippines in line with its expansion of operations in Asia Pacific.

“The announcement underscores our decision to strengthen presence in the Philippines to address growing demand for Palo Alto Networks enterprise security offerings in the market and it is an opportune time to enhance support for customers by establishing an official base of operations,” the company said.

Among industries that the firm is catering to include telecommunications, financial services, retail, energy, utilities, education, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, media and entertainment, and the public sector.

“There’s a growing demand for Palo Alto Networks enterprise security offerings in the market and we believe there’s no better time than now to be here to enhance support for our customers and partners by establishing a local office to support our in country operations,” Palo Alto Networks Country Manager for Philippines Lyndon Lacanienta said.

“I am excited about the opportunity and outlook of Palo Alto Networks in the Philippines. We see tremendous growth not only in the Philippines, but throughout Asia Pacific, driven by the increasing demand for our disruptive and unique enterprise security offerings that prevent rather than simply remediate cyber-security threats,” Lacanienta stressed.

He added for the Philippines to further grasp economic growth, the country should be at the forefront of technology usage.

“Organizations need to utilize technology to drive competitive and business advantage. With the increase of technology adoption, the security aspect of it will increase as well. Cyber-security risk increases with the adoption of technology initiatives like cloud computing, BYOD, and SDN, – all of these have the potential of introducing weaknesses in an organization’s security posture,” he said.
