Bataan gears up for APEC senior finance officials meeting in June

BALANGA CITY, Bataan, April 21 (PNA) — Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings set to be held in the picturesque Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac town, this province in June.

Representatives from the Department of Finance (DOF), National Organizing Committee, the host agency for the upcoming APEC Summit 2015 held a consultation meeting on Tuesday with provincial officials led by Governor Abet S. Garcia at the Crown Royale Hotel here.

Government officials composed of Zaldy Patron, Marc Gregory Crisostomo and Arsenio Pascua II, during the meeting, cited the importance of the APEC Summit.

They said this is the best time to show to the APEC Summit delegates, guests and even members of the international media the tourism and investment potentials of Bataan.

Among the issues tackled during the meeting include the areas of concern of the various committees during the summit.

Police Chief Inspector Arnel Morales Dial, chief operations and plans division of the Bataan Police Provincial Office, presented safety and security preparations.

Techie Banzon, provincial tourism officer, on the other hand, discussed the inter-agency composition of the technical working committee of the province and their corresponding areas of concern.

Some 200 delegates from the 21 APEC economies, international financing institutions and members of international media are expected to attend the APEC Senior Finance Officials’ Meeting and Financial Transparency and Taxation Dialogue here. (PNA)
