BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, April 16 (PNA) — Governor Ruth Padilla here said she will set aside part of her own salary for the development of attractions at the Bangan Hill National Park (BHNP) in barangay Magsaysay.
She said that at present the BHNP needs to establish and develop its tourism image as an alternative destination in Cagayan Valley for being the constant choice of devotees during the Holy Week.
Padilla said a portion of her pledged salary will be used for the establishment of the Stations of the Cross at the BHNP.
She said she will also source out funds for the establishment of other attractions and amenities so that the BHNP will be visited by local and foreign tourists all year round,
“We are also encouraging other sectors to pour in their assistance to this project. In fact members of the provincial board led by vice governor Lambert Galima.Jr. also pledged to shell out some amount from their salary for the Stations of the Cross,” Padilla said.
The BHNP again drew hundreds of devotees and spectators during the Holy Week to witness the Crucifiction of Jesus Christ.
Padilla said she will also allot another P1 million for the BHNP development next year to fully develop the access road from the national highway.
The amount is in addition to the P2 million fund assistance earlier handed by the provincial to the BHNP in the years 2014 and 2015. (PNA)
