MANILA, April 10 (PNA) – – A Palace official on Friday denied a news report naming a certain individual as among those being considered to head the Commission on Elections (Comelec)
In a statement, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. cited a report that came out Friday in a major daily, The Philippine Star, identifying one Firdausi Abbas as one of the candidates as Comelec Commissioner.
He said that “acccording to the Office of the Executive Secretary, no such name or person is among those being considered by the President for possible appointment to the Comelec.”
”The appointments to the Comelec shall be announced by the Office of the President in due time,” he said. (PNA)
