MANILA, April 8 (PNA) — Irish power management firm Eaton has opened its second manufacturing facility in the Philippines that will cater to its electrical business.
Eaton expands to another 29,000-square meter land in Tanauan City, Batangas which will produce electrical power management products such as uninterruptable power supply (UPS) products for global markets.
The company stated Wednesday that its new facility in the Philippines is in line with the firms move to expand its Asia Pacific operations for information technology and small and medium data center markets.
“Eaton’s global growth strategy is focused on continued investment in emerging, high growth markets and regions,” Eaton Chair and CEO Alexander M. Cutler said.
“With the increased manufacturing capabilities in the Philippines, we will be able to continue Eaton’s expansion into emerging markets with cost-competitive products,” Eaton Electrical Business in Asia Pacific President Ivo Jurek, on the other hand, noted.
“Our investment in the Philippines is a strategic pillar that demonstrates our commitment to building our electrical business in ASEAN and the East Asia region. We are investing heavily in expanding our electrical business in the market to meet our growth goals,” he added.
Currently, the company has 1,200 employees in the country since it started its first production facility in 2012.
With the opening of new plant, the Irish firm projects its employment to increase to 2,000 by 2017.
Eaton’s electrical business include power distribution and circuit protection; backup power protection; control and automation; lighting and security; structural solutions and wiring devices; solutions for harsh and hazardous environments; and engineering services.
The company caters to 175 markets globally with a total of 102,000 employees.
In 2014, Eaton’s sales was posted at USD22.6 billion. (PNA)
