MANILA, April 5 (PNA) – President Benigno S. Aquino III urged the Filipino people on Sunday to join him in building a peaceful and God-fearing Philippines with full of opportunities and free from corruption.
”Let us build a Philippines which is more peaceful and full of opportunities, truly free from corruption and connected with God,” the President said in his Easter message read by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. over state-run DZRB Radyo ng Bayan.
As the nation commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the President prays for more vigor to continue and sustain the economic development achieve by his administration, Coloma said.
”As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and commemorate the success we have achieved, let’s pray for more vigor to continue our fight,” the President said.
Coloma, meanwhile, thanked the mass media for helping the government in disseminating the information about typhoon “Chedeng.”
”We also thanked the people for their cooperation,” Coloma said.
The weather disturbance entered the Philippine area of responsibility as a typhoon but it weakened to a storm and later to a tropical depression and was expected to exit the country as a low pressure area. (PNA)
