Robinsons Retail to hit 1M loyalty card membership in 2015

Posted on March 26, 2015

MANILA, March 26 (PNA) — Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI), the country’s second largest multi-format retailer, targets to end this year with one million memberships in its loyalty card — Robinsons Rewards Card.

RRHI president and COO Robina Gokongwei-Pe told reporters Thursday that Robinsons Rewards Card members is currently at 850,000 since it was launched in May 2013.

Gokongwei-Pe said its goal of one million loyalty card members this year will be backed by its partnership with Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), or also known as Caltex, its first Rewards Card partner outside the 21 Robinsons Retail brands.

Through the partnership, Robinsons Rewards Card holders can earn points through purchasing fuel products in Caltex.

Earned points can be redeemed and used as a discount card to 21 Robinsons Retail brands and Caltex gasoline stations nationwide.

When purchasing fuel products in Caltex, every five-liter purchase will gain one point which is equivalent to Php1.00.

Caltex, on the other hand, is the second largest integrated energy company in the United States.

Other Robinsons Retail brands where Robinsons Rewards can be used are Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Selections, Robinsons Easymart, Robinsons Appliances, Toys “R” Us, Handyman, True Value, AM Builders Depot, Daiso Japan, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkinsm Miss Selfridge, Warehouse, River Island, Shana, G2000, Shiseido, and Benefit.

Meanwhile, CPI country chair and general manager Peter Morris said aside from the Philippines, the oil company already had the same partnership with big supermarkets in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, noting that fuel and grocery products are among the top purchases of consumers.

To date, Caltex has over 700 service stations in the Philippines while RRHI has 1,180 stores of Robinsons Retail brand nationwide. (PNA)
