Meralco inks partnership agreement with Cainta for ‘Kuryente Load’, 3 other projects

MANILA, March 25 (PNA) — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) signed Wednesday a partnership agreement with the municipality of Cainta to promote “Kuryente Load” and three other projects.

The partnership was signed by Cainta Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto and Senior Vice President of Customer Retail Services and Corporate Communications Alfredo Panlilio in the Municipal Hall of Cainta.

According to Meralco, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to strengthen the collaboration between the electric distribution utility and the local government unit for four major projects.

The four projects are: e-vehicles, power 130 families in Baranggay San Roque and Sto Domingo this year, a safety awareness training and Meralco’s distribution of an improvised flotation device or salba-bote units and the joint promotion of Meralco’s “Kuryente” load.

Cainta will be the first LGU in the country to have its market stalls, powered up by “Kuryente Load”.

Meralco will have 240 subscribers in the area, with 40 accounts already online and 200 more in the pipeline.

Market stalls in the area could not settle their accounts with Meralco before, but the distribution utility expects it will be better in the future with “Kuryente Load”.

Senior Vice President of Customer Retail Services and Corporate Communications Alfredo Panlilio welcomed the government and private partnership, adding it will help uplift the lives of the people.

Meralco said it will transform Cainta into a vibrant urban community, with a Cainta Business Center already open to address concerns of the municipality.

The municipality of Cainta was previously nominated as a Luminary in the recently held Meralco Luminaries event.(PNA)
