DOT calls for entries to second weekend hashtag project on Instagram

Posted on March 20, 2015

MANILA, March 20 (PNA) — The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Friday encouraged tourists anew to share more photos of Philippine tourist spots on its second weekend hashtag project on photo-sharing service, Instagram.

Weekend hashtag project is a series featuring designated hashtags (#) chosen by Instagram’s Community Team for a chance to be featured on the department’s Instagram account.

This project began after tourists began tagging the DOT account in some of their most creative shots of the country since its account was launched.

Most recently, the account has been overwhelmed by the number of sunset photos it was tagged on, which led to the idea of creating its own project.

Last weekend, the department was also tagged in photos showing the blend of the colors blue and green in its theme “Blue and Green.”

For this weekend, the department has selected the theme, “Food with a View.”

“This weekend, let’s celebrate life on food! Our theme will be “Food with a View,” inspired by the gallery of @GoManila,” DOT said in its account.

“Tag us on your snapshots of food on the foreground and your view on the background using #FoodXView and we’ll feature the winning entries next week,” it further said.

Chosen photos will be collated by the DOT and will be featured in the department’s official account.

DOT also urged those posting photos to use the hashtags #VisitPH2015, #VisitPhilippines2015, and #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines. (PNA)
