MANILA, March 16 (PNA) — Globe Telecom Inc. subsidiary and operator of GCash, G-Xchange (GXI) announced on Monday its partnership with Gate Distribution Inc. and ECPay in line with its aim to expand its customer base nationwide.

Under the deal, GCash cash-in outlets, which convert cash to GCash, will be available in over 4,000 Gate Distribution outlets nationwide, 1,300 of which are in 7-Eleven, ECPay’s biggest client.

The telecommunications company also noted that service fee for cash-in to self and others via ECPay is waived.

Meanwhile, Gate Distribution Inc. will also be an authorized Globe Charge reseller.

Aside from making cash-in/cash-out transactions in accredited GCash outlets and partners nationwide, GCash customers can visit any Globe store.

Cashing in to a GCash wallet is free, while cash-in to others or cash-out has a PhP20 service fee for any amount from PhP1,000 and below and any amount in excess of PhP 1,000.

GXI President and CEO Xavier Marzan, in a statement, expressed excitement on the company’s newest partnership with Gate Distribution Inc., the largest prepaid distributor of cards for phone, gaming, and internet, and ECPay, the leading electronic payment system provider in the country.

“We are excited to bring GCash closer to more users so they can experience the convenience of a safe, secure, and hassle-free platform of money transfers with our partnership with Gate Distribution and ECPay,” Marzan said.

“We look forward to further expanding our customer base by leveraging on the nationwide presence of our new partners and be able to introduce to their own customers the benefits of using GCash,” he added.

For his part, ECPay President Raymund Jude Aguilar echoed Marzan’s words, saying that the ECPay is also optimistic on the impact of the partnership to the company’s business.

“The partnership between GCash and ECPay will expand the consumer base, making our services accessible to more consumers,” Aguilar said.

“With this partnership, cash-in points for GCash will be practically everywhere. Aside from that, they can go to any of the 4,000 outlets nationwide and they can reload their GCash accounts 24/7,” he further said. (PNA)
