Home builder plans to build 2nd MRB project in Davao City

Posted on March 4, 2015

DAVAO CITY, March 4 (PNA) — One of the country’s biggest home builders is exploring the possibility of putting up its second medium rise building (MRB) project in downtown Davao City.

While it has yet to name the second project, Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) first vice president for Visayas and Mindanao Tristan Las Marias said it would be similar to its first MRB, the One Oasis of Davao that was launched in 2008.

Las Marias was in Davao City for the awarding of top performers and producers of Filinvest Southern Mindanao held at Waterfront Insular Hotel of Davao on Monday.

Las Marias said the planned project has prime location in a two-hectare property in Bolton Extension right in the heart of the city accessible to City Hall and commercial district.

He said the project would consist of about 4 to 6 buildings with 150 units per building.

“We saw the need of people especially those in nearby cities and provinces to have their weekend residences and the large chunk of overseas Filipino workers wanting to own a home here,” he said.

Davao City has become a regional hub and many people do come for business and also for the education of their children where the best universities are located here, he said.

He said they hope to roll it out in the market before the end of 2015.

Meanwhile, Las Marias said the last building or its 6th MRB of the One Oasis project is under construction although the amenities within the area are now complete.

One Oasis offers big and wide spaces with guarded gates, swimming pool, gardens, playgrounds, club houses, elevator per building and roof deck for laundry area. It is located just at the back of Davao City’s biggest shopping mall although there are stores at the ground level of the building where residents could easily access.

Las Marias said 70 percent of the buyers of One Oasis are from Davao City, 20 percent from nearby cities and provinces and 10 percent from OFWs. (PNA)
