ILOILO CITY, Feb. 25 (PNA) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte will speak on federalism during a forum to be held at West Visayas State University (WVSU) here Friday.
Duterte, who is reported to be vying for the presidential post in 2016, believes that federalism is a more viable alternative to address the problem on the restive Bangsamoro in Mindanao that is seeking self-governance.
Likewise, federalism could decentralize power and promote growth of the regions, according to him.
In an interview with former North Cotabato Governor Emmanuel Pinol, who actively supports Duterte’s bid and also a proponent of federalism, said that Duterte this Friday will also speak on the said form of government in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Duterte will have a meeting with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. early morning of Friday. (PNA)
