MANILA, Feb. 23 (PNA) — Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe) on Monday announced that the telco was shortlisted in a prestigious public relations (PR) awards ceremony this year.
As the only Southeast Asian telco to be shortlisted in the PR Awards 2015, Globe received three finalist citations for its comprehensive PR campaigns.
Globe was twice nominated in the Best Crisis Management category for its #StopSPAM and Fair Use Policy awareness campaigns and in Best Sports PR Campaign category for its communications campaign for Globe Slipstream.
Yoly Crisanto, Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications at Globe, meanwhile, welcomed the telco’s newest achievement.
“We are honored to be among the best in Southeast Asia when it comes to the practice of public relations and communications,” Crisanto said.
“This testifies to our strong commitment to be the preferred brand of choice among consumers as well as a company which puts premium at transparency and accountability through strategic communications,” she said.
To recall, the telco launched its #StopSPAM awareness drive in 2014 in support of a public clamor to protect consumers from receiving spam and scam text messages.
Globe was able to crowd source customer reports on spam and scam messages that put an end to the scammers’ scrupulous undertakings through the same campaign.
Meanwhile, the Globe’s Fair Use Policy program became a standard global practice to ensure quality of network experience among customers by teaching them responsible data usage and monitoring.
As for Globe Slipstream, the telco used the campaign not only to demonstrate the speed of its world-class network but also to promote F1 in the Philippines and increase awareness of Filipinos towards the sport.
The event featured a car parade, outdoor concert, and driving exhibition led by Filipino-Swiss Lotus F1 junior driver Marlon Stockinger.
The PR Awards, which is the premier event celebrating excellence across the public relations spectrum in Southeast Asia, recognizes brands that have achieved success through sound and strategic communications.
This year, the Awards went regional and saw over 230 organizations enter across 25 categories. For each category, Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies will be awarded.
The high profile jury, made up of communications experts from leading brands, meticulously selected the finalists, in total about 120 organizations from Southeast Asia.
Winners will be decided by a panel of judges comprising of senior-professionals from agencies and academics and experts from the industry and will be recognized at a gala dinner and ceremony in Singapore on March 5. (PNA)
