SAN MATEO, Isabela, Feb. 14 (PNA) — Proving that love is sweeter during the Valentine’s Day, at least 45 couples have vowed to nurture their relationships during the Valentine’s Day mass wedding which started at about 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the San Mateo Gymnasium on Feb. 14 here.
Mayor Crispina Agcaoili administered the wedding of the couples through a civil ceremony. She later advised them to practice openness, sacrifice, empathy and lasting love to each other.
The oldest couple, Julio Sanchez, 61-year-old, and partner Anita Guiquing, 54, said they finally tied the knot after 41 years of living together because they would like their papers and their children’s records to be fixed. They have four children and 12 grandchildren.
Another old couple, Nicolas Galupo, 62-year-old, and Geronima Galupo, 56-year-old, has been living together for 38 years and with four kids and 12 grandchildren.
The couples also gave hugs and kisses to their respective partners shortly after the officiating of the mass marriages.(PNA)
