CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 11 (PNA) — The local business community wants the adoption of a business model that would enhance inclusive growth of various business endeavors here, an official of the Oro Chamber said Wednesday.
Oro Chamber President Cerael Donggay said that the adoption of the business model is the new thrust of the association for the next 11 months.
“An inclusive business model would have a chain reaction leading to a more sound economy in Northern Mindanao,” Donggay said.
He said that the adoption of a business model in some areas in the Philippines for the last two years has been proven successful.
Donggay cited that huge companies such as Nestle and Jollibee, that has an inclusive business model have also enjoined stakeholders in the market system – from consumers to suppliers – to become more progressive and developed.
Just like the social enterprise approach, an inclusive business model allows both the supplier and the business enterprise to grow hand-in-hand in a sustainable way, Donggay said.
Bobby Ansaldo, the Oro Chamber Vice President, also noted that a company in Thailand has successfully adopted an inclusive business model of farming that resulted in the lowering of prices of farm products while generating prosperity to both the company and the farmers.
Donggay said that by the end of the second quarter this year, the Oro Chamber would identify potential businesses that would adopt the inclusive growth approach.
Before the end of December, it is expected that these companies will be practicing the inclusive way, he said. (PNA)
