BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 11 (PNA) — Out of School Youths (OSYs) in the province will be given equal opportunity to learn with their counterparts inside various schools through the partnership with the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines(ULAP) and the Ayala Foundation.
The literacy project is dubbed as Capacity Development for Evidence Informed Education Policy-Making in Sub-National Government Level in the Philippines(CDEIEPMSNGLP). The province, along with Eastern Samar are the pilot areas.
The project components are the Abot Alam that caters to OSYs aged 15-30; “Pedal and Paddles” which provides bicycles for students who walk long distances to reach their schools and boats for students who have to cross deep rivers even during stormy season; and the “Text to Teach” where teachers can text their instructions to students who could not make it to school for valid reasons.
Governor Ruth Padilla said the project can be implemented in the province considering the situations of OSYs in upland barangays who are facing difficulty in pursuing their education.
“There will be screening for those who will avail of these project components to ensure their adherence and compliance with the requirements,” she said. (PNA)
