MANILA, Feb. 10 (PNA) — Petron Corp. and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines increased the pump prices of gasoline by Php 2.40 per liter and Php 1.90 on diesel effective at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Petron also raised the price of kerosene by Php 2.15 per liter.
According to the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) oil monitor as of Feb. 5, gasoline was sold in Metro Manila between Php 33.40 and Php 37.60 a liter and diesel at Php 23.70 and Php 28.74.
The DOE’s oil monitor did not include kerosene prices.
The spike in gasoline prices was attributed to labor strikes of American oil workers.
Meanwhile, the diesel price jump was brought by the temporary closure of seven Asian refineries and the high demand expected from it. (PNA)
