MANILA, Feb. 3 (PNA) — Manila Water, an Ayala-led East Zone concessionaire, has installed a total of 27,332 new water service connections in 2014 as part of its continued efforts to further expand its water service connection program.
Manila Water East Zone Business Group Operations director Ferdinand Dela Cruz said the new water connections consisted of 779 commercial and industrial connections, and 26,553 domestic connections.
By the end of December last year, Dela Cruz said, Manila Water has maintained 949,230 water service connections consisting of 896,372 domestic and 52,858 commercial and industrial connections.
“These 896,372 domestic connections serve a total of 1,242,325 households for the whole East zone”, he said, adding that in December alone, Manila Water has installed additional 1,793 water service connections in its concession area.
To date, more than 6.3 million residents in eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province have benefited from Manila Water’s water service improvement programs.
Manila Water is the private concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System providing water and used water services to portions of Quezon City and Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Taguig, Makati, Pateros, Marikina, Pasig and several towns of Rizal Province. (PNA)
