ZAMBOANGA CITY, Jan. 13 (PNA) -– The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has requested its central office to provide them additional drug-sniffing dogs to boost the anti-drugs operation here in Region 9.
PDEA Regional Director Joseph Ladip disclosed Tuesday that the new drug-sniffing dogs will augment the two K-9 units they have at present here in the region.
He said they will activate additional K-9 units once they receive more drug-sniffing dogs from the PDEA central office.
Ladip said the additional K-9 units will be deployed in the provinces of Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and other parts of the region.
He said the activation of additional K-9 units is part of the anti-drug strategies they are set to implement this year. (PNA)
