SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, Jan 12 (PNA) — The city government has activated its one-stop-shop inside the city hall for a speedy processing and renewing of business permits.
City Business and Licensing Officer Atty. Artemio Villaluz said the city government has activated the one-stop-shop to enable business establishment owners, tricycle and van operators to process their application and renewal of business permits.
Villaluz said there are representatives from the city health office, fire bureau, Philhealth, Social Security System (SSS) and other government agencies which are issuing documents for the renewal and processing of business permits inside the city hall.
“We activated the one-stop-shop inside the city hall for the speedy application and renewal of business permits,”, Villaluz said.
The one-stop-shop activation is a move by the local government unit to speed up the processing of business permits and to prevent red tape.
Local government units derived its annual operational funds from the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) and from local tax sources like business taxes and real property taxes.
Last year, the city government has collected a total of 77 million from local taxes and expects to exceed this year as there are more business establishments like malls that are operating in the city.
The deadline for the renewal of taxes is on January 20, 2015 and renewing beyond the deadline will incur the business owners penalties and surcharges.
The city business and licensing office called on business owners, tricycle and van operators to renew their business permits and licenses before the deadline to avoid incurring penalties and surcharges. (PNA)
