DAGUPAN CITY, Jan. 7 (PNA)–The City Treasurer’s Office issued Notices of Tax Deficiencies to several businessmen in Dagupan who were found last year to be deficient in the payment of their taxes.
City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara said the move was made following the examination of books of businessmen citywide, which resulted in the discovery that P10.2 million in taxes were not paid by local traders.
Of the amount, P5.5 million was already collected with the rest (P4.7 million) set to be paid by these traders within this year.
Alcantara said another P1.6 million is being sought to be paid by other businesses that failed to submit their financial statements as required by law.
However, the amount is subject to adjustments upon presentation or submission by the traders of the required data being asked of them.
All these were added to the business tax collections of the city up to the end of the year, Alcantara . (PNA)
