BUTUAN CITY, Dec 17 (PNA) — Police here in the region is highlighting Christmas for children – especially needy children.
Aside from hanging Christmas lanterns on Wednesday evening to emphasize the festive spirit of the yuletide season and the celebration of the “Simbang Gabi” tradition at their St. Ignatius de Loyola Chapel spearheaded by the regional chaplaincy office, the Police Regional Office 13 will be distributing gifts to the street children at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, this city this coming Friday morning.
In Surigao del Norte, the Surigao del Norte Provincial Police Office will also conduct a Christmas activity for the children. The activity which is intended to treat a child on Christmas Day dubbed as “Pulis Ko, Santa Klaus Ko,” to be held at Jollibee, Rizal St., in Surigao City on December 22 have already been arranged.
The beneficiaries for this year will be the children from the Charisma Bethel Children’s Home, located in Brgy. Serna, Surigao City.
PSInsp. Rosemarie G. Molabola, Police Community Relations Officer of the said police office together with PSInsp. Lady D. Aray and SPO2 Cheryl Q. Saldo had already visited the center and had made some coordination regarding the upcoming program.
Charisma Bethel Children’s Home is currently a home to some 60 orphans and indigent children, who were victims to a variety of cases such as starvation, typhoons, fires, floods and abuse. (PNA)
