MANILA, Dec 15 (PNA) — Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corporation (TAREC) has fully commissioned its 27 wind towers for the San Lorenzo Wind Farm Project, according to a disclosure with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Monday.
“Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corporation has fully completed and commissioned all 27 wind towers of its San Lorenzo Wind Farm Project in Guimaras Island, bringing in an additional 54 Megawatts (MW) of much-needed clean and renewable power to the grid,” the company said.
The power company said it has already poured in Php 6.5 billion in the project, including the Guimaras grid connection upgrade and a Php 570-million world-class submarine cable — that links Guimaras and Panay.
It stressed it is currently the only wind farm under the Renewable Energy (RE) Act that is able to deliver 100 percent of its capacity to the grid without constraints.
Trans-Asia cited the San Lorenzo Project which has been delivering power to the Visayas grid as early as October 7, 2014.
Meanwhile, the project is awaiting a Certificate of FIT Endorsement (COE-FIT) from the Energy Department.
Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corporation (TAREC) is a company engaged in developing indigenous renewable energy resources in the country. It is a full subsidiary of Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation.
It holds a portfolio of wind sites across Luzon and the Visayas, having a total potential capacity of over 400 megawatts. (PNA)
