MANILA, Dec. 9 (PNA) — Nine people were killed while 17 others were hurt after a bomb exploded at a passenger bus passing through Maramag town, Bukidnon Tuesday afternoon.
The incident took place at 5: 45 p.m.
The blast occurred as the RTMI Bus with body number 2640 was passing near the Central Mindanao University.
Major Christian Uy, 4th Infantry Division spokesperson, said all of the fatalities died on the spot while the 17 wounded are now undergoing treatment at the Valencia Hospital.
The bus was headed for Cagayan De Oro at the time of the explosion.
Uy said that investigators are still determining the motive for the attack.
The Department of National Defense, through its spokesman Peter Paul Galvez, condemned the bombing, stating that it will work with the police in order to ensure that those who are behind the incident would be brought to justice. (PNA)
