CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Dec. 1 (PNA) — Some 300 beneficiaries of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantaged or Displaced (TUPAD) workers on Monday received their wages of P3,360 each or a total of P1,008,000 from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
DOLE Regional Director Ana C. Dione, assisted by Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, personally handed over the wages to the TUPAD beneficiaries in a ceremonial opening of the Pampanga Day Celebration in front of the provincial capitol here.
The beneficiaries were among the identified displaced workers from the towns of Masantol, San Simon and Candaba.
The TUPAD workers were tasked to clean the streets, pavements and sidewalks and de-clog the canals within the municipalities and major roads.
The TUPAD temporary work program was implemented by the DOLE in partnership with the provincial government, through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Luningning Vergara. (PNA)
