MANILA, Nov. 24 (PNA) — The head of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has said that aside from the security of Pope Francis, they are equally concern over the safety of the people who want to see the pontiff during his four-day Apostolic and State Visit in the country in January 2015.
Archbishop Socrates Villegas, CBCP president, said that organizers are also thinking on how to take care of the spectators, including children, the sick, and old women and men.
The Lingayen-Dagupan prelate added, “It’s not so much on the security of the pope, but more on the security of those who want to see the pope.”
Villegas noted that even Pope Francis is not only considering his personal safety but is also concerned about the safety of the people wishing to see him.
Pope Francis will be visiting the country from Jan. 15 to 19, 2015. (PNA)
