ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, Nov. 6 (PNA) — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Isabela has approved the inclusion of Indigenous Cultural Communities representation to the provincial board during Wednesday’s regular session.
The SP has approved on first, second and final reading the inclusion of Indigenous Cultural representative in the person of Marcelino Espiritu.
Espiritu was a former agriculture sector representative in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and after his tenure, he was replaced by Jonathan Calderon.
Espiritu will be the third sectoral representative who will sit as ex-officio member and will be granted the privileges, emoluments and other benefits of a regular board member.
The other sectoral representatives in the SP are board members Vilinda Bernardo and Jonathan Calderon.
Espiritu belongs to a Kalinga tribe which thrives at the interior villages of San Mariano town. (PNA)
