MANILA, Oct. 31 (PNA) –- Local share prices sustained their winning streak for a third day on Friday following the United States’ equities rally.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) increased 44.74 points to 7,215.73 from previous day’s 7,170 close.
Jun Calaycay of Accord Capital Equities Corp. said US stocks were significantly higher overnight behind improving economic data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Index finished 221 points up while the broad S&P500 added 12.35 points.
Calaycay said other Asian markets also joined the overnight cheer with only the gauge in Shenzhen marginally in the red.
All counters increased moderately.
Volume of transactions reached 14.27 billion shares valued at P9.71 billion.
Advancers topped decliners, 100 to 72, while 47 issues unchanged. (PNA)
