LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Oct. 30 (PNA) — The city of Lucena is now heading towards becoming an industrial city, Mayor Roderick Alcala described Thursday afternoon at a seminar of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Queen Margarette Hotel here.
The mayor reported developments such as the Land Bank of the Philippines’ approval for the loan budget for the proposed new city hall building at the Diversion Road and the new public market, which will both contribute to the city’s progressive status.
He also assured the construction of an agri-industrial park between Barangay Ibabang Talim and Barangay Salinas, in addition to several big business establishments recently sprouting even in the outskirts of the city.
With the advent of the agri-industrial park, Mayor Alcala is looking at around 15,000 job opportunities for Lucena residents as well as those from adjacent towns.
With businesses coming in along with thousands of job opportunities, Alcala is confident that the city is truly treading the path towards progress and development. (PNA)
