Globe, Smart to offer iPhone 6, iPhone 6+ next month

Posted on October 29, 2014

MANILA, Oct. 29 (PNA) — Two of the largest telecommunications companies in the country on Wednesday announced they will be offering iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ starting next month.

In a statement, Globe Telecommunications Inc (Globe) said that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+, dubbed as “the biggest advancements in iPhone history” will be available beginning November 14.

To recall, Globe earlier mentioned that it is set to release the two new iPhones last week.

Globe, however, said that customers can already pre-register for their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ beginning Wednesday.

Smart Communications, in a separate statement, announced plans to release the new iPhones a day after their rival telco.

Both telcos have yet to give details on the pricing of the said iPhones.

Apple Inc., the multi-national corporation responsible for creating the phenomenal iPhones last September, unveiled their two new iPhone lines which boast of A8 chips and the new iOS 8 operating system.

On October 13, Apple said that both iPhones will be available in a total of 69 countries, which include India, Mexico, South Korea and Thailand, by the end of the month and in more than 115 countries by the of the year.

The iPhone 6 measures 4.7-inches while the iPhone 6+ measures 5.5-inches claim to be “dramatically thinner” than the older iPhone versions.

They also claim to be more powerful and at the same time, power efficient. (PNA)
