BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Oct. 27 (PNA) — The Bataan Child Empowerment Council (BCEC) on Monday celebrated its annual Family Day at the Bataan People’s Center here.
As a social development organization, the BCEC gives special focus on children aged 0-18 to ensure that they enjoy the fullness of life and their rights as children.
For several years, the BCEC has been an effective and trusted partner of the provincial government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Marilyn C. Tigas, in providing developmental programs to its target clientele.
Part of the BCEC’s advocacy is corollary to the province’s vision to attain the highest human development index in the country by the year 2020.
To date, BCEC is providing continuous supplemental feeding, vitamins, educational assistance as well as medical and dental services to nine day care centers in eight of the 11 municipalities of the province.
The provision of services is regularly monitored during the BCEC’s monthly visits to the day care centers, whose beneficiaries mostly belong to the indigenous communities.
The family day celebration is graced by its chairperson Vicky S. Garcia who delivered an inspirational message.
One of the highlights of the event is the showcase of talents of the children through their ethnic and modern dance numbers. (PNA)
