MANILA, Oct. 27 (PNA) – Two people were injured in a fire at the basement of the Lopez Tower and Museum along Rockwell Drive in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City on Monday afternoon.
Makati Fire Marshal Ricardo Perdigon said the fire started at around 2:15 p.m. and responding firefighters were not able to immediately rescue the two men from the burning building because of thick smoke.
Initial reports only identified the injured men by their last names as De Guia and Melsosyan, who were both rushed to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment due to suffocation and minor bruises.
Perdigon said the fire was contained at around 3 p.m.
Makati fire department investigators said they are still conducting probe on the cause of the fire. (PNA)
