No. 1 drug personality under PDEA-6’s watch list arrested in Passi City

Posted on October 16, 2014

ILOILO CITY, Oct. 16 (PNA) — A notorious drug personality finally fell into the hands of narcotics operatives in a Wednesday morning anti-illegal drug operation in Passi City, Iloilo.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-6) has identified the suspect as Michael Palmares of Passi City who was considered as the number one drug personality in the watch list of the drug agency.

Palmares’ arrest came after narcotics agents, armed with a search warrant issued by the local court in Passi City, searched the suspect’s house which led to the recovery of suspected “shabu” estimated to be weighing at least 63 grams, drug paraphernalia, weighing scale and two fragmentation grenades.

Apart from Palmares, also arrested by PDEA was his live-in partner Evelyn Bolios and Albert Palabrica of San Enrique, Iloilo who was tagged as one of runners and distributors of the prohibited stuff in areas of Iloilo’s fourth congressional district.

The successful operation was jointly conducted by PDEA-6 personnel and operatives of the Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs SpecialOperations Task Group.

Palmares together with his live-in partner and Palabrica were ordered detained for the filing of appropriate criminal charges for violating certain provisions of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (PNA)
