LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 14 (PNA) — “See, Mayon Volcano gave her luck, because Mayon is ‘magayon’ (beautiful),” Governnor Joey Sarte Salceda said Tuesday on the winning of Albayana Valerie Clacio Weigmann as the newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2014.
Weigmann will visit the province of Albay on Thursday, Salceda announced in a press briefing Tuesday.
The commercial model and TV host who represented Albay province will be welcomed by the Albayanos for her triumphant homecoming.
Salceda said the 24-year old beauty queen will have a float parade around Legazpi City and her hometown of Daraga. Weigmann will also visit the evacuees at Camalig and Daraga where she will distribute gifts to pre-schoolers currently residing in the area.
“I asked her to represent Albay and she agreed. I would like to congratulate her. She even came here to establish her roots before the contest,” Salceda said.
Weigmann will also share her experiences to 20 young aspiring Albay beauty titlists during her stay in the province.
Weigmann’s mother has relatives in Centro Ilawod, Daraga and other parts of Camalig town. (PNA)
