MANILA, Oct. 9 (PNA) — A Malacanang official on Thursday said the government is willing to discuss issues with anyone if the topic is reasonable.
”We maintain the government’s willingness to join a dialogue where the topic is clear and there is understanding about the issue,” said Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. in a briefing.
His reaction was made in response to queries if the government is willing to meet with the National Transformation Council (NTC), headed by Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles.
NTC has called for President Benigno Aquino III’s resignation due to the controversies which involved some members of his Cabinet.
However, Coloma said the President will finish his term because he has a social contract with the Filipinos.
“He (The President) promised to do everything to alleviate the lives of the poor through righteous path to start the transformation and give hope to those who lost it and make the impossible possible,” he said.
“All his efforts are based on that aspect and the President is determined to make good on his promises and the contract he made to the Filipino people,” he added. (PNA)
