Posted on September 19, 2014

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Sept. 19 (PNA) -– The Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FCCCII) led by regional director Roberto Licup and Lucena president Rozaldy Chua donated two truckloads of relief goods including noodles, water, canned goods, reading glasses and basic medicines to the families affected by the restiveness of Mt. Mayon in Albay province.

Southern Luzon Command Chief MGen. Ricardo Visaya received the donations in a simple turnover ceremony Friday morning at the SOLCOM headquarters at Camp Guillermo Nakar in this city.

The soldiers of SOLCOM took turns in transferring the goods to Army trucks, to be transported to Bicol Region as soon as the roads become passable, Visaya assured Licup and Chua.

The SOLCOM mounted a campaign, “Operation Tulong” for the Mayon evacuees, gathering contributions (food items, water, medicines) for relief assistance to more than 31,000 residents of Albay province living in evacuation centers due to the restiveness of Mayon Volcano.

The campaign started yesterday, Sept. 18, encouraging business establishments, educational institutions, government and non-government agencies and concerned stakeholders to contribute and help Bicol residents who are affected by the calamity.

Donors can drop their donations at the consolidation area at the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for CMO, U7, SOLCOM, Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City. (PNA)
