MANILA, Sept. 16 (PNA) — Malacanang has expressed optimism that the country’s reforms and gains achieved under the Aquino administration will be sustained beyond 2016.
“At this point in time, I can assure you that what concerns the President is making sure that the reforms that have been done in the past four years will remain in place even after 2016,” said Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte in a Palace press briefing.
She noted that President Aquino is concerned about the reforms taking root and ensuring the life of the reforms after 2016.
To ensure continuity, Valte said some reforms can be institutionalized through passing legislation.
“In some naman, you make sure that the reforms are embraced by the bureaucracy, and other ways as well,” she said.
Valte also assured that the government continues to push forward with projects and policies that will continue to support the President’s reform agenda.
“Nothing is slowing down which you normally see in administrations. Kapag ‘yung medyo malapit na, medyo pumipreno na. In the Aquino administration’s case, hindi po ganoon ‘yung nangyayari, so tuloy pa rin. You can see this in infrastructures, tuloy pa rin ang pag-push natin sa paggawa,” she said. (PNA)
