DAVAO CITY, Sept. 7 (PNA) — President Benigno Aquino III will arrive in Davao City Monday to grace the Mindanao membership meeting and launch of the inclusive agri-business program of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) at the SMX Convention Center, SM Premier, this city.

The President is expected to arrive at 10:00 a.m at Davao International Airport with some members of his cabinet, namely Secretary Gregory Domingo of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Sec. Luwalhati Antonino of the Mindanao Development Authority, Sec. Mar Roxas of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). From the airport, Aquino and his party will motor to SM Premier for the main program.

He will also be met by PBSP Mindanao Regional Committee Chair Paul Dominguez and PBSP Executive Director Rafael Lopa.

The PBSP’s members meeting and inclusive agribusiness launch aims to rally PBSP members and other Mindanao companies around the idea of Inclusive Business (IB) and support priority industries namely coffee, cacao, corn, palm oil and rubber.

The event also seeks to present opportunities for the business sector regarding possible IB investments in Bangsamoro.

The gathering is also the venue for the members to be updated by PBSP’s initiatives, directions and strategies to promote corporate social responsibility programs, particularly IB initiatives to help in addressing poverty and job creation in the context of the imminent Asian economic integration and the need for climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

Dominguez and Lopa will hand over to President Aquino a resource book on Inclusive Agribusiness Investment Portfolios. (PNA)
